It's much more political and down-to-earth, with major story choices sometimes even being about who you're going to join up with or betray next. I personally like the TS story better, but it's just different from the 3H story. There isn't permadeath, but these deaths really ramp up the thrill of the battle. In the later chapters of the game, I've consistently seen half my party die by the end of the battle. TS has much tighter and more challenging gameplay than 3H because of this difference. The battle system is also noticeably more complex, and you have to consider how you want to exploit high ground, chokepoints, debuffs, and your terrain-altering abilities because you absolutely will need every single one of those tools if you want to minimise casualties. And choosing who to deploy is actually kind of hard. Unlike in 3H, where anyone can fill most roles and become most any class, everyone in TS has a specific blend of roles that no other character can fill on their own. You can make team building as strategic as you want, but at the end of the day Fire Emblem's biggest strength is the support system. In my first playthrough I didn't use Roland because he was so fragile, he must suck! Then I tried him again and now he is my main physical attacker, dude is a beast.ģH is a game where there's lots of fun to be had if you know how to build units, but unless it's Maddening, you will get by even if you don't know what you're doing. It has lots of replay value because instead of customizing your units you are customizing your army. Also the main villains aren't laughable garbage like the Agarthans are in houses. A big step from 3H where Dimitri's path was the only complete story in the game. Story: Every path in TS is good since you can clearly see the pros and cons. Also all three secondary protagonists get their own theme!Ĭharacters: 3H has more developed characters than TS, the former has many supports for everyone while the latter has a small number of cutscenes for the non story recruits. Music: TS wins because it doesn't stick with the same track for 4 maps in a row. However the npcs in TS are actually competent most of the times.
But I can say that TS is much harder than 3H, expecially if you wanna keep everyone alive and you cannot make a bloated WL that can solo groups of enemeis in enemy phase.
